Are you a facebook user? Do you think your information is safe with the tech giant? Well i have news for you its not. Facebook gave out 1.5 million users information out to Cambridge Analytica back in 2016. So if you have been a user your info could have been given out. How would this make you feel if you were one of the people who’s information was given to this company. The most important question is why did they give out this info. And what gives them the right to do this without your permission or knowledge. I think it is unfair to use people’s personal info without permission or consent. Do you truly trust them with your info do you feel your info is safe? With everyone worried about identity theft and hackers this doesn’t make things any safer what so ever. Now facebook must pay a fine for breaking the law but where will that money go. Will it go to some big federal agency or to the people that had their information compromised? And even if the money goes back to the people is your info worth what little they are willing to give you for breaking the law. It made me laugh when i read that they would have to pay up to 5 billion dollars. But reports say they made in the first quarter of the year a grand total of 15 billion dollars and would make even more in projected income the next quarter. So the way i see it they are barely taking a hit at all this is like a drop in the bucket for them and they had the money already set aside to pay the fine in full. From the sound of it they were ready to pay the fine and didn’t care what happened to your information. How can we keep our info safe? My advise is don’t give it out in the first place at least not to facebook they cant be trusted.
